Response from Nike to policy brief on the garment industry by Cambodia Center for Human Rights
...After the incidents, we immediately began working with BFC [Better Factories Cambodia] and the Sabrina factory to verify the facts related to the protests. We conveyed our concerns directly to the Cambodian government about the need for worker safety while allowing workers to exercise their freedom of association rights to protest. We encouraged the government to uphold the ILO Conventions on the rights of workers in Cambodia, including its investigation of the workers involved in the protests and the treatment of those detained as a result of the incident.
