Sainsbury's response re banana supply chain living wages

Sainsbury's is committed to working collaboratively to implement living wages in supply chains and continues to support and adhere to the UK retailer commitment, the principles of engagement and the statement of retailer working groups. In many cases we have gone beyond these principles and we are recognised as a company that is leading in the implementation of living wages in the banana sector. We continue to be very active in the Better Together Forum and in the UK retailer group. We are participating in the joint verification of salary matrixes alongside other retailers and we regularly share our experience with the aim of encouraging action across the sector.
