Global Legal Action Network, AIDA, CINEP / PPP, and CAJAR filed three complaints with the OECD National Contact Points in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Australia. The complaints contain allegations of the environmental impacts of the mine operated by Carbones del Cerrejón in La Guajira - Colombia, which has affected indigenous, peasant, and Afro-descendant populations that inhabit the area. The companies involved are ESB (Electricity Supply Board), CMC (Coal Marketing Company), BHP, Anglo American, and Glencore. The objective of the complaints is that the companies domiciled in Ireland suspend their commercial relations with Carbones del Cerrejón due to human rights violations and a lack of due diligence in their operations.
