Indians in Jordan protest, face police action

…More than 100 Indian nationals, including four Tamils, who have been stranded in Amman in Jordan were reportedly chased and assaulted by local police on Monday when they took our a protest over non-payment of salary dues by their employer….Aseel Universal….which employed them, has cut power and water supply to the hostels where around 800 people including 120 Indians are accommodated by the company.

The company had shut operations…triggering the unrest among employees who hail mostly from Indian, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

…employees staged a protest on Monday demanding to settle their pending dues….the company owes each of them for two years now…
