Every year, thousands of Thai migrant workers pick berries in the woods of Sweden and Finland. Reports document exploitative living and working conditions, as well as wage theft. Workers often don't receive the pay promised by their employers during the recruitment phase in Thailand and some – due to the high costs of traveling to Scandinavia – end up in debt. Advocates and workers demand that responsible authorities stop overlooking this human trafficking process and take action.
