Elizeu Queres de Jesus was murdered in the rural area of Colniza during an attack carried out by security guards from the Unifort company - hired by Farm Agropecuária Bauru - against residents of the Gleba União Association camp, a rural movement fighting for land in the region. Nine other people were injured. The police arrested four security guards in the act. The farm is owned by a former federal deputy. Formally, the farm is managed by the company Floresta Viva Exploração de Madeira e Terraplanagem.
