Mitie provide our stores, office and warehouse with maintenance support. Mitie Care & Custody is a separate business unit that provides support to the Home Office around immigration detention and escorting. They tell us that they have a strong focus on delivering the highest standards of care with a focus on respect, decency and meeting the needs of those they look after. Mitie do not have any influence on policy decisions around immigration detention as these sit with the Home Office. Mitie have assured us that across all their immigration centres over two thirds of their team members employed are women and custody officers are highly trained to care for women with complex needs.
