Cisco Response

Cisco Systems, Inc. is a global technology company, that designs, manufactures, and sells networking, telecommunications, and cybersecurity solutions, empowering people around the world to securely connect and collaborate in the digital world.

Our Business Model

Cisco has a longstanding commitment to respecting human rights throughout our global operations. Our Global Human Rights Policy aligns to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and is updated on an annual basis. In line with the UNGPs, Cisco is dedicated to preventing and mitigating adverse human rights impacts and we conduct human rights due diligence, including on transactions that present heightened potential human rights risks. This due diligence is ongoing, and we regularly reassess our risks and strategies for addressing them. We share more information about our work to operationalize the Global Human Rights Policy on our Purpose Reporting Hub.

Cisco has an indirect sales model, selling its products and services through local channel partners that are required to comply with applicable trade laws and regulations. Cisco builds to global standards and our sales activities are in strict compliance with U.S. export rules and regulations, and Cisco’s policies.

Employee Engagements
We take all concerns raised by employees seriously. As stated in our Cisco Code of Business Conduct, we encourage our employees to report potential violations of our policies through our dedicated channels, including ethics@cisco.com.

Cisco employs thousands of people in hundreds of offices around the world. Our employees have a wide range of perspectives, and we see this as a source of strength. As is the case with any large organization, sometimes people will disagree on issues of importance to them. We continue to work hard to encourage an environment of constructive, respectful discussion, free from harassment and discrimination.

Senior executives routinely engage in employee listening sessions to understand different points of view. This input has helped shape Cisco's approach in several areas, including supporting humanitarian relief campaigns, workplace giving, wellness sessions and employee resource groups.

Our business remains focused on empowering people around the world to securely connect and collaborate in the digital world, wherever they are. We’re committed to continuing to foster a safe and inclusive workplace where different views are heard and respected and serve our global market customers in line with our longstanding commitment to respecting human rights.
