Guatemala: Commentary alleges violent attacks against land defenders resisting El Tambor mine; incl. co. responses

JASS and the Fund for Global Human Rights released a new article showing the need for collective protection, healing mechanisms and women leadership to defend community lands from abusive business practices in Mesoamerica.

The article alleges that the company KCA-EXMINGUA has hired personnel to attack and violently dislodge community resistance opposing the operations of El Tambor mine in Guatemala.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre had previously invited some of companies to respond to allegations concerning El Tambor; these responses are included below.
