India: Private security company allegedly conducts surveillance & policing in public spaces; incl. company response
In February 2022, a resident of Bengaluru raised concerns about surveillance and policing by private security companies on public property in a Deccan Herald article. The author names 56 Secure, a private security company that uses AI, as a company that claims to secure private property, but ends up patrolling entire neighborhoods. He calls on residents and residents' associations to collectively boycott these types of companies.
