On November 15, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA, Chairman Tsuga Kazuhiro), an industry association made up of manufacturers of electronic parts and digital devices, along with the ILO and the Japan Federation of Labor and Social Security Attorney's Associations, held a training seminar on "Business and Human Rights" in Tokyo for management of member companies. The program, which runs through March 2025, aims to (1) make corporate management aware of the importance of addressing "business and human rights," (2) support practitioners in formulating "human rights policies" that will inform both inside and outside the company of their efforts to respect human rights, and (3) respond to the individual needs of each company through individual follow-ups and "closing sessions."
