KIABI's response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - Nov 2023 update

  • Wonderful Apparel: it is not our active factory. We have investigated internally and no one been placing any orders with this factory. Will continue to review and investigate further.
  • Gainway International (Myanmar): On Jun 19, we were informed by Gainway that it had reached an agreement with workers and WCC on Jun 12 to start having new salary 5,600MMK/ day from July 1 onwards. Based on the provided information, it appeared to be a peaceful meeting with workers and not protest. We have reviewed the payroll records from July 1 – September 30, 2023; all workers were given the new salary at 5,600MM/day and overtime wages are calculated based on the new salary.
