後續行動: Chorus cancelled the contract for Tork and compensated the two workers who spoke up NZ$10,000. In February 2024 Tork was liquidated for failing to provide for taxes. Tork's owner denied wrongdoing. A Chorus spokesperson said the company hired ethical investigators to investigate but was frustrated the government did not do more.

Both men had been working in Auckland on the national fibre broadband rollout for a subcontractor called Tork Engineering, owned by businessman Junaid Shaik.
They complained to Chorus, which oversaw the fibre programme and so was Tork’s ultimate boss. Chorus in turn hired ethical labour investigators AIM CRI, and the two men told them their story…
