Activists and local residents in Karachi, Pakistan, have been protesting house demolition, evictions, and the expansion of the giant luxury estate Bahria Town in their ancestral lands. Indigenous communities have opposed the Karachi project since its launch in 2014. The latest clashes began in April 2021 as activists resisted work to expand the housing complex into nearby villages. Villages reportedly possess valid ownership documents of their lands. Recent protests have allegedly been met with violence by police and private security guards, and led to arrests and criminalisation.

Business & Human Rights Resouce Centre invited Bahria Town to comment on the allegations; Bahria Town did not respond.
