Philippines: Death toll at 68, 51 others missing following landslide near Apex Mining Co. concession

Death toll is now at 68 while 51 others are still missing following a landslide near Apex Mining Co. concession in Masara, Davao de Oro, Philippines on 6 February 2024. The landslide is attributed to torrential rains.

In a statement, the company said that it is "currently focusing its manpower and resources on fully supporting the provincial government with its relief operations. Since the slide, the company has been providing food packs, drinking water and medical services to the affected communities." Further, the company said that is assisting the Government in gathering information "by regularly submitting aerial video footage of the landslide area for monitoring and evaluation purposes."
