Rosalina Domínguez is a leader from the Río Blanco from COPINH, an organisation that works to protect indigenous rights against the imposition of economic projects. In the evening of 31st July 2019, ex-workers from DESA, the company linked to the killing of Berta Cáceres, threatened human rights defender Rosalina Domínguez with a machete when she was with a friend and her two children. She managed to escape those threatening her. COPINH has received numerous attacks and threats for their position of resistance against mega-projects. International organisations such as the IM-Defensoras have called on the government to ensure the safety of those working in COPINH given their situation of high risk.
