The prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee for Altai Territory are conducting checks in connection with the death of a miner at Zarechensky mine in Zmeinogorsk district. According to the press services of the agencies, the man fell into a well from a height of about 60 metres, receiving injuries incompatible with life. The tragedy reportedly occurred at OJSC Sibir-Polymetals.

The incident occurred on the night of 9 September this year. A 41-year-old senior tunneller of an unnamed joint-stock company was carrying out drilling and blasting operations in the mine and, while checking the line of technical devices, fell from a height of about 60 metres into a technological well. From the received injuries he died. Now the prosecutor's office of Rubtsovsky district and employees of the IC are carrying out checks. The supervisory agency is going to assess compliance with labour protection requirements at the enterprise and take measures in case of violations.
