Chile: Communities allege disagreement in Memorandum of Understanding with Barrick Gold’s Pascua Lama mine

Indigenous communities gathered together to denounce "irregularities" and the legitimacy of the Memorandum of Understanding between Barrick Gold and some leaders of the Diaguita indigenous group. The communities insist that Barrick Gold’s Pascua Lama project still does not have a social licence to operate  (see article with the allegations in Spanish here). The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Barrick Gold to respond to these allegations. Barrick Gold response is provided below.
