In September, BONELA [Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS] called a special meeting with trade unions and they formed a coalition...They are planning...to submit a petition to Parliament, calling for the enactment of laws to protect workers who are living with HIV/AIDS...The appeal follows a 2002 labour case where Botswana Building Society (BBS) was accused of firing a newly appointed employee because he was HIV positive.
