...we would like to point out that the reference in the Observer article to the Agricultural Sector Productivity Enhancement Facility is incorrect. The scheme involves loans that are made by Barclays to its farming sector customers and not to the government. The lending scheme is organised by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and is provided by all local and foreign banks operating in the country to their customers. Also, Absa bank no longer has any operations in Zimbabwe...
