Nigerians need not pay Chevron's trial fees

Nigerian villagers who lost a civil rights trial against Chevron Corp. over fatal shootings by security forces on an offshore oil barge won't have to pay the company $485,000 for trial expenses, a federal judge has ruled, citing the villagers' poverty, Chevron's wealth and the potential impact on future cases.
