Sri Lanka Environmental Authority temporarily revokes suspension order on Coca-Cola

See all tags

Sri Lanka's Central Environmental Authority (CEA) today temporarily revoked a suspension order it imposed on the Environmental Protection License (EPL) of the Coca-Cola beverage factory in Biyagama.

The CEA last week suspended the EPL granted to the Coca-Cola beverage factory after the factory was found to be responsible for an oil leakage into the Kelani River polluting the drinking water supply.

It has been found that the water in the Kelani River at Kaduwela and Biyagama areas had been contaminated as a result of the oil leakage from an underground fuel pipeline at the beverage manufacturing plant.
