We are now writing to you in response to the questions you have raised in relation to Human Rights Impact Assessments. These are: 1) What defines a human rights impact assessment as distinct from a social impact assessment? 2) When and how should human rights impact assessments be required? 3) Are there any examples of human rights impact assessments for private sector projects in the public domain aside from for BP's Tangguh project?
