Daley sounds off on BP pollution [USA]

Calling it an "issue that goes to the heart and soul of the Midwest," Mayor Daley today held out the possibility of filing a state or federal lawsuit if jawboning doesn’t work to stop the BP refinery in Northwest Indiana from dumping more pollution into Lake Michigan. "Our great resource is Lake Michigan. Our drinking water — the whole idea of quality of life: both the lake and the river. That is our front door, back door. That really makes Chicago. . . . The idea of dumping now into the lake again is really unacceptable. . . . That’s gonna affect all of us — our drinking water, the environment," Daley said.
