USA: Environmental lawyer who fought Chevron for oil pollution in Ecuador disbarred; legal experts form committee to moniter criminal contempt trial

Steven Donziger, a US lawyer who represented Ecuadorian communities in an oil pollution case against Chevron (Texaco) in Ecuador, was disbarred on 13 August 2020. A committee of legal experts was formed to monitor the criminal proceedings against Donziger after concerns were raised over a US federal judge's alleged misconduct.
