Angloplat worker drowns in flooded Amandelbult mine [So. Africa]

...Anglo Platinum (part of Anglo American)...confirmed on Monday the death of a worker at its Amandelbult mine...Spokesperson Trevor Raymond...said that Angloplat would release no further details until it had completed an investigation into the incident..."The mine...was flooded...and...was advised not to start operations until...a complete assessment was done," the [National Union of Mineworkers] said..."Amadelbult ignored the advice and went on with operations...a mineworker went down using a cage and drowned immediately" [it added].
