EEOC sues Ford over racism discipline

The [U.S.] Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed suit against Ford Motor Co. Monday, accusing the company of failing to discipline a white male employee who allegedly told a fellow African American employee that "it was a good day for lynching."...Ford spokeswoman Anne Gattari said the company agreed in principle to settle the lawsuit on Friday and signed a consent decree. Previously, the company made an undisclosed financial settlement to Mazon, she said. Gattari said the company was surprised the EEOC filed the lawsuit. "We have agreed to give everybody in the plant more diversity training," Gattari said.
