The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights wrote a letter to the President of Atlético de Madrid urging him to reconsider the club's sponsorship agreement with Azerbaijan in light of the recent events in this country, adding that "in recent days, the most prominent human rights defenders in Azerbaijan have been arrested". We invited Atlético de Madrid to respond, but it did not do so.
