[A]round 160,000 Syrians have taken up jobs in Jordan, of which 30,000 are children, mainly working in the agriculture sector...Boys constitute nearly 80 per cent of working children in the Kingdom, where 36 per cent of child labourers are exposed to abuse by their families and 28 per cent are subject to abuse by their employers...nearly 2,000 children work in agriculture in the Jordan Valley for more than 10 hours a day, in addition to being exposed to the risks resulting from dealing with pesticides.
