So. Africa: Groups concerned about negative environmental impacts stage protest opposing Engie's local coal investments

In May 2015, thousands of people participated in a protest outside the French Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa, calling for France and French company Engie (formerly GDF Suez) to desist from investing in coal in South Africa.  Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Engie to respond to concerns raised about the company's investment in coal, but the company did not respond.  All items related to this story can be found below.
