Clean-up of mercury waste on at Kodaikanal - Environmentalists dispute HLL's claim [India]

Environmentalists, who won a major victory against the Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) by wrenching a direction from the Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board to HLL to clean up its closed thermometer factory premises at Kodaikanal and ship the hazardous mercury waste to the United States (its consumer), have accused the company of misleading on facts and preventing independent monitors from overseeing the clean-up operations.
