How business can help lessen vulnerability to disaster

Like many of your readers, I am watching the humanitarian crisis unfold in Burma with utter dismay...[T]he role responsible businesses can play should not be overlooked. While I understand the arguments behind calls for companies to boycott the country...responsible businesses can play a positive role in ameliorating the humanitarian impact of disasters of this nature...Let us think twice before pulling business out of despotic countries...If more responsible businesses were in Burma today, the efforts of companies such as Total...would not be a drop in the ocean.
