Nigeria: Corruption Commission to expose companies using fake tax clearance certificates to evade tax

‘ICPC to expose firms using fake tax clearance, audit reports’, 3 Nov 2014: Companies...indulging in the procurement of tax clearance and audit reports will soon be exposed as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has commenced full investigation in an effort to unravel and expose them. This is to ensure that companies...are not tax evaders...The ICPC has also warned members of the business community...against using forged or fake Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC)...According to the Commission: “...ICPC has commenced investigation into...several companies...[and it intends] prosecuting tax- related cases...especially those cutting corners...”
