Kenyan Elections: Access Now calls on telecom companies to keep internet on

Ahead of the Kenyan elections on 8th August, Access Now released an open letter asking Kenyan telecoms companies not to comply with any request from the government to shut down the internet. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Safaricom, Airtel Kenya and Telekom Kenya to respond. No company has responded yet and we are following up.

On the 2nd August, the Communications Authority of Kenya promised not to shut down the internet during the election
