The purpose of the 60th Anniversary in Paris was to mark the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the challenges and opportunities which face us in the field of business and human rights…We…believe that no business…should be shut out of the dialogue unless there is good reason to believe that they are deliberately trying to subvert it. We have no reason to believe that this is the case for any of the business members of BLIHR and in fact I believe these companies have played a crucial role in making the business and human rights agenda more mainstream and a permanent fixture of international public policy.
