Brazil: Biggest natl. general strike in decades against austerity measures & conservative govt. allegedly benefitting businesspeople

Workers, including teachers, bus drivers, healthcare providers, public servants, and students, intellectuals, academics, among others protested against the currents threats to labour and pension rights promoted by Temer's government allegedly to benefit businesspeople. This is considered the biggest national general strike in decades. Schools, shops and services were closed, and transportation was not available in many cities across the country. Unfortunately, the police responded, as usual, with violence against protesters.
