India: worker killed, and four others injured, in elephant attack at Assam tea garden, incl. co. responses

In March 2023, it was reported that a worker had been killed, and four others seriously injured, by an elephant at Hatigaon Tea Estate. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre asked Unilever - listed as a buyer from the estate on its most recently available supplier list - and Lipton Teas and Infusions (formerly ekaterra) which took over most of Unilever's tea business in 2022, for a response. Lipton stated that it does not source from Hatigaon. Full responses are included below.
