... Anas Modamani sued the social network earlier this year for failing to remove "fake news" posts that linked his photo with crimes and militant attacks. But a German court has thrown out the case on the grounds that Facebook was neither a "perpetrator nor a participant"... The case comes at a time when Facebook is under scrutiny for letting "fake news" propagate on its platform. The German Government is currently reviewing legislation to fine social networks up to €500,000for posts containing fake news or hate speech that aren't removed within 24 hours...
