Newmont takes very seriously our commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship and we welcome questions and constructive input regarding our performance in these areas…Newmont acquired the Kori Kollo mine (operated by the Empresa Minera Inti Raymi SA-EMIRSA) from the Battle Mountain Gold Company in June 2000. In July 2009, Newmont sold its ownership stake in the operation to a Bolivian mineral processing company (Compañía Procesadora de Minerales Sociedad Anónima - COMPROMINSA) and EMIRSA continues direct management of the facility. EMIRSA has been actively reprocessing previously mined material and has scheduled closure beginning in September 2015.  Prior to the sale of its ownership stake in the operation, Newmont (via EMIRSA) initiated closure and reclamation activities for facilities no longer required for ongoing mineral processing…Independent monitoring of closure and reclamation activities will continue as EMIRSA progresses with planned activities. Newmont remains committed to monitoring the implementation of the closure and reclamation plan as outlined in the divestiture agreements...
