“LGBT-dedicated hotel to be opened in Havana”, 05 July 2021

...Cuba is set to open its first hotel dedicated to the LGBT community in the capital Havana, it was announced today. The Telgrafo Hotel, located at the intersection of Prado and Neptuno streets, will reopen as a space “where freedom and respect are the most important values, and where inclusion and diversity are promoted,” according the the Spanish chain Axel Hotels. Company spokeswoman Silvia Perez said that the opening of the hotel “is a sign of the evolution of a Cuban society that is making progress in inclusion and support for the rights of historically marginalised groups.” Ana Belkis Perdom, head of the research and teaching department of the Cuban National Centre for Sex Education (Cenesex), welcomed the development and said that the centre would carry out awareness workshops for the hotel’s staff.
