Reynolds responds to New York Times alleging audits fail to detect child labour in supply chains

We have investigated the one incident reported by the New York Times and were unable to substantiate their account, but take the matter very seriously. Hefty® party cups previously planned a transition out of the Chicago area facility identified in the article in early 2023, and the product is no longer made in that facility. Our company maintains a strong Social Accountability and Ethical Treatment policy, which extends to our suppliers. We hold all of our suppliers to our own employment standards, which require employees and temporary contractors to be of 18 years of age and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. We expect all of our suppliers to follow our ethics standards, and we employ our own auditing process in addition to third party auditors. We will continue to review our auditing processes to ensure that we are in compliance with our standards.
