Myanmar: Report alleges Japan-financed railway projects continue despite military's use of trains

A report by the Justice for Myanmar alleges that Japan-financed railway projects in Myanmar are proceeding despite the military’s "use of trains to move troops, arms and other supplies, showing serious human rights due diligence failures by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the corporations involved".

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited the cited companies to respond. Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF), Fujita Corporation, IHI Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Nippon Signal, Sumitomo Corporation and Tokyu Construction responded. Their responses are linked below. On the other hand, Kurihalant Co. Ltd., Rinkai Nissan, and Tekken Corporation did not respond.
