DMG Mori response

Contrary to allegations in the media, DMG MORI was and is not involved in illegal exports to Russia. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that third parties have obtained machines or parts and delivered them illegally to Russia...

We conduct rigorous inspections and do everything we can possibly do as a company, to prevent that our machines fall into the hands of any country or organization of concern, not just Russia, and are used for purposes that threaten world peace. We are also expanding the installation of devices to prevent unauthorized use through unauthorized relocation. These inspections are not only conducted at the time of sale, but also when providing service and parts, and will continue to be conducted in the future.

DMG MORI is no longer active in Russia as we have already stated on 14 March 2022 and confirmed again on 29 September 2023 and 25 October 2023...

Our factory in Ulyanovsk had completely stopped its production and was conserved to prevent our technologies from falling into the hands of the Russian government. All but three employees of the production plant were immediately moved to a transfer company. Since then, these employees had only carried out activities to preserve the plant and have no longer been on site since the takeover of control in February 2024...

The employees of the sales and service companies and all Academy employees were also dismissed immediately, with the exception of a few employees in Moscow who work in administration for legal reasons. In fall 2023, we conducted an internal investigation which revealed that these employees sold 122 machines produced in Russia on their own authority and without the knowledge of the properly authorized management. We were able to identify three companies from the civil sector as buyers...We have put several measures in place to prevent this from happening again.

Finally, we would like to emphasize again: DMG MORI has always and fully complied with all export control regulations and has created a complex system to implement, track and enforce the relevant regulations worldwide. As a manufacturer of dual-use goods, we know the processes very well and comply with all regulations at all times. We have also strictly adhered to sanction measures.
