What is the Ministry of Environment doing after Ilham Aliyev’s remarks? July 25 2023

...[T]he situation worsened after complaints from residents of the village of Soyudlu, Gadabay region, about the Azerbaijan International Mining Company (AIMC), which dumped technical waste into a water reservoir located next to the village.

Commenting on yesterday's statement by AIMC...Ali Aliyev noted that the main purpose of monitoring will be to assess the environmental situation...

“After the speech of President Ilham Aliyev, the company identified the main areas of cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources,” noted the chairman of the Geological Exploration Agency.

According to Ali Aliyev, AIMC has already planned the development of advanced technological tools to improve production processes and the operation of enterprises of the Gadabay gold-copper-pyrite deposit, and has also drawn up short-, medium- and long-term action plans.

In turn, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources conducts monitoring in the production zone, in the mineral extraction zone and simultaneously in the waste storage area...
