British energy group BP and the Economic Development Board (EDB) yesterday signed a letter of intent to build hydrogen refueling stations for future Singapore motorists driving hydrogen-powered vehicles. In May, the EDB signed a similar letter of intent with DaimlerChrysler to develop hydrogen-power cars for the Singapore market. "You'll probably see the installation of hydrogen systems in 2003, with the construction one year ahead of the introduction of the vehicles, which could be 2004," said Gary Oliver, hydrogen market development manager at BP.
