FGV stresses commitment to 'no recruitment fee' principle

FGV Holdings Bhd (KL:FGV) said it remains committed to responsible recruitment and its ‘no recruitment fee’ principle for former migrant workers through its reimbursement programme.

In a statement, FGV said it had been reaching out to former workers to submit their claims under the Former Worker Reimbursement Programme as part of its efforts to ensure ethical labour practices across its operations...

As part of its ongoing efforts to uphold human rights, FGV has introduced several initiatives to protect the rights of migrant workers, including the adoption and strict enforcement of its ‘no recruitment fee’ policy, capacity building and stringent due diligence on recruitment agencies.

The company has allocated RM112 million to reimburse recruitment fees to its migrant workers, including former migrant workers.

To date, it has paid RM74.15 million to 22,091 migrant workers, and the reimbursement exercise will continue until year end.
