Hong Tze Enterprise response to allegations of physical abuse of migrant workers

We would like to respond to para 4 to para 7 of the above article as follows:
(a) There was no beating by the company’s high-ranking officials;
(b) After the police investigation, it was concluded that:
(i) there was no evidence indicating that two (2) particular workers have been
beaten, no police reports were made by the alleged victim themselves, and
hence, there is no case against the company;
(ii) In addition, the police report made was officially withdrawn on 13.01.2023
against the company; and
(iii) No arrest has taken place against anyone.
(c) Seven (7) Nepali workers have returned to Nepal on 11 January 2023.
(d) At the same time, nine (9) workers decided to come back to work with the company.
(e) We had a last meeting with the balance twelve (12) workers on 12 January 2023, who
have confirmed that they choose to go back to Nepal. As such, we respect their
decisions and are in the midst of doing preparation to send them back.
