India: Environmental HRD stabbed near Chemfab's main gate after protesting encroachment & pollution; co. did not respond

Members of the environmental and land rights organisation Maan Meetpu Kulu lament the stabbing of environmental and land rights activist Mr. ArpudhaKani from Ramanathapuram, India, after he protested against industrial waste and land encroachment by the chemical company Chemfab Ltd. Mr. Arpudhakani was taken to the hospital after been attacked near the main gate of Chemfab Ltd. by a group of people on March 14, 2022. Maan Meetpu Kulu members claim that previous complaint letters from November 2021 and March 2022 seeking police protection went unheard.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Chemfab Ltd. to respond; the company did not respond.
