Another work accident occurred at the PT Gunbuster Nickel Industri (GNI) smelter plant in Bunta Village, Petasia District, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi… the accident occurred at smelter 1 grinding facility on Monday morning.

…one local worker reportedly died, two foreign workers from China were injured and several other local workers are now receiving treatment at a local hospital.

A number of workers at the PT Gunbuster Nickel Industri (GNI) smelter factory in Bunta Village, Petasia Subdistrict, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, suffered work accidents.

One worker was reported dead.

… Based on witness and victim information, the incident began when workers were installing filter screens (Grinding Division) of PT GNI smelter 1.

“Then suddenly there was a burst of fire from below which was thought to have come from a spark, due to welder activities near the sieve installation site”… The burst of fire and coal hit employees who were around the location.
