Instrumenta response

In 2009 Swedwatch, at the request from Stockholm county council, performed an audit of Instrumentas supplier in Pakistan, Sahil Surgical. The audit showed anumber of deficiencies. We were faced with a choice – were we to terminate the cooperation with oursupplier or should we try to improve the conditions? We made the choice to continue working with the company and to make an investment in raising the social and environmental working conditions. The social dimensions in the situation were important in our decision. Instrumenta have, with help of independent experts performed four follow-up audits at Sahil Surgical, the latest in the spring of 2014. Through audits, handling plans and continuous dialogue clear improvements have taken place at the supplier.
